London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies
This was something special. In the summer of 2012 I was lucky enough to be given (possibly) the best job in the world, assisting multi-award winning live director Hamish Hamilton as he planned the coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
This involved weeks of running round a carpark in Dagenham in the rain, shooting the rehearsals from every possible angle and then cutting together a ‘visual storyboard’ that could be shown to the OB cameraman explaining, shot by shot, how the show was to be filmed on the night.
A phenomenal experience.
